Hi all, necroing this thread to introduce myself. I'm Shane from Kawerau a small town located in the North Island of Aotearoa/New Zealand. Have loved the game since buying the 1st edition metal miniatures version and have recently been itching to get it back to the table after decades of gathering dust.
Greetings! I'm a new player & I've played a lot of the current version of the LOS. I have played 3 games of LOS using the blue rulebook from the blue box; 1st edition?
Late to the game, but hopefully better late than never...
Hello, all. Loooonnnnggggtime player and frequent poster on the old site up until a couple of years ago (real life got in the way). Missed the recent Kickstarters, unfortunately. Delighted to see some life in the ol' game again.
Curious if anyone knows if the users "smokingwreckage," "grendeljd," "brother jim," or "scoutzout" are around here?
Welcome aboard. There are many of us who were and still are 1st Ed. players. I was never on the older board that you mention but haven't stopped playing the game since I first got it. I live in Hamilton, ON. Where do you hail from?
Hello all! I'm Craig and I live just north of Toronto, Ontario with my partner Jessica. I am a former tabletop game developer, writer, and production team member from many MANY years back and over the years have been involved in a number of projects. I have been in contact with Marco over the past weeks ever since I saw his mention of Legions of Steel on Facebook and have offered any assistance I can give to the game's upcoming revival.
Over the decades, I've seen a lot of wargames come and go; but Legions of Steel really stands out as having a lot of potential to be an industry mainstay. The backstory, the ruleset, the visual themes and overall design are familiar enough to entice new players, but is still very unique and original enough to foster a dedicated community around it like many other great games.
I lived in a small town too. We had to travel either north or south to go to game stores or bookstores etc. that sold game items, anyway, I remember seeing and closley examining the 1st edition but nobody I knew had it, sadly.
Yeah, I lived in an apartment that was pretty much game central for a group of about ten of us - I had two copies of the starter box, so I managed to get a pretty good group going!
@Jeff Cavazos That's awesome! I'd two friends I gamed with regularly and in the larger community in our town there were, perhaps, another dozen. Anyway, we played a lot of AD&D, Star Frontiers, BATTLETECH, and Robotech. We all had a lot less money and had to be really strategic in our purchases.
Hi Steve - thanks! Yeah, I've always loved the game! Back then I was living in a smaller town so was never able to pick up any of the non starter box models :( so I'm really looking forward to expanding beyond the Nightmares/MkI Fiend/Basic UNE troopers!
Hi all! My name is Jeff, playtesting here in Denver, Colorado, U.S. Played the heck out of the 1st edition box set back in the day, loving the new rules! Running a demo table this upcoming weekend (February 15 and 16th) at GhengisCon here in Denver, stop by and get some game in!

Thanks for giving us the update. Be sure to post pics after the show.
Hello. My name is Ryan, I'm located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. I use to play Legions of Steel a long time ago and I somehow managed to keep all of the original Tiles. No minis or rules though. I'm looking forward to trying out the game again; my buddy and I would like to join in the playtesting. Thanks.
Hello, Ryan! Welcome! My name's Steve. I live in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island. I'm sure Marco with will appear sooner-or-later and let you know how to contact him to become playtesters.

Hi, all. I am also a big fan of Legions of Steel and have been buying nearly all of its products I could find and following its progress since it first began. I am glad Marco is able to get this rolling again. Looking forward to the 2nd edition. I am also a playtester for it here in Edmonton and Alberta overall at least, so maybe we will meet at a convention sometime.
Salutations, Warren! My name's Steve and I live on Vancouver Island, BC. We're neighbors kind of... LoS is a pretty darn cool game and I've been lucky enough to collect-up a bunch of stuff too, although, very few miniatures! I use counters, actually, I'd be happy to post the PDFs on the forum but I'm not too sure how? Marco? Can I post LoS counters on the forum somehow? Oh, yeah, Warren, I've been playtesting too and it's been lots of fun. I playtested with a friend quite a bit but recently I've been solo playtesting.
@Astro Knight Hi, Steve. I am getting my daughter and her boyfriend to playtest the basic scenarios in the rulebook. They are on third scenario now. Feedback coming later tonight. I will also be doing my own playtesting. In other games I use standee counters, but I was lucky enough to still keep all my LOS minis after all these years. I am glad I did. I just could not get rid of them after all that painting I did, and I enjoyed the game.
Greetings all, My name is Lembit and I have been a fan of LoS since it first came out. I met Marco back in the day at the Pandemonium convention in Toronto. I live in Hamilton, Ontario. I am a playtester and have a couple of friends who I introduced the original game to a couple of years ago and will be playtesting with me. I look forward to possibility of meeting Marco again (as well as his son whom I met at the recent TABSCON in Toronto). I wIll keep my fingers crossed in hopes that the Kickstarter is a big success (It has always been so much better than Space Hulk/Warhammer 40K IMHO).
Hello, Lembit! I desperatlely want to play LoS back-in-the-day but didn't get a chance. This year I bought a bunch of LoS new-old-stock form the Sentry Box, Calgary, AB. I found the LoS Forum and became a playtester; so cool! I sometimes play with a friend I introduced to the game and sometimes I solo game. I live on Vancouver Island, BC. My "real" name is Steve but I prefer Astro Knight. LoS is a great game!

Thanks very much Lembit. I will be back in Canada sooner or later and we can be sure to meet up. We are working hard at making the KS a big success and help for you and other playtesters is essential to that.
Hello I'm also Steve. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned. Would be nice to blow the dust off the my old LOS collection and make room for some new stuff :)
Hi, Steve! My "real" name is Steve too and I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. I'm excited about the return of LoS as well. I was aware of LoS back-in-the-day but didn't get the opportunity to play. It's funny how things work-out sometimes. This year I purchased a bunch of new-old-stock from a terrifc store called The Sentry Box, I found the Legions of Steel Forum, and now I'm a playtester for the upcoming relaunch!

back-in-the-day but wished I had done. It's super cool that you're running demos at GhengisCon. No doubt, it'll be fun!
