KickStarter Dates March 31, 2020

Our dates for the first Kickstarter is March 31, 2020. This is the release of the print and play beta rules, boards and counters as well as some of the original UNE Commando Units and Machine Hordes. If you have any specific requests you would like to see in the Kickstarter, we can try and accommodate it. Stay tuned for updates.

Forgive me if this info has been talked about already, but I'm just trying to confirm how the Kickstarter campaigns are going to unfold and what the release plan is for LoS.

From what I understand, there is an initial KS coming out March 31st which will essentially be a re-release of the original Legions of Steel game. It will feature all the original-molded miniatures from the first box set with new printed tiles. There will be no or limited rule changes and no or limited changes to the original documentation from the original box.

After the Mar 31st release, work will then transition over to the October Kickstarter which will include newer miniature sculpts, new units, updated faction/force info, updated rules, etc.

With all that in mind, I would assume most people are being encouraged to buy the March Kickstarter which will be their first introduction to the game, and will have their collection supplemented with the October KS and subsequent releases if they so wish. Afterwards, new miniatures, tilesets, and supplements will be available for sale online and possibly in-store?

Yes you are pretty much on the money. The rules and boards will be print and play and the minis classic. Sales from this will firstly introduce new players who can get in on the game for under $50 usd. Buying the corset of classic miniatures gives you all the rules and maps etc in PnP version for free. Also the profits are being reinvested into the new 2nd edition. The October KS will have new sculpts art etc. A lot will be revealed this summer. Also a boxed set without miniatures will be available because all of the original minis will be compatible. You don't need to buy more miniatures if you don't want to.

Are you planning on upgrading the doors in anyway? What about having double-sided tiles?

hey Warren, Yes we plan on upgrading everything for the October KS. For the March KS we are planning on doing new boards as well as counters and doors. There are plans for dual sided tiles. Attached here is an example of one of the new tiles. You will notice the cracked and reinforced stone floor. This is part of the lore we are creating. On the back I am thinking of designing the tiles to create a large hanger bay. This would give a more open spaced combat.
